The Opposite (A Change Of perspective)

I woke up in the morning and wished for a sunny day
But the day was gloomy and cold, and I sigh and huff
Then I caught a thought which says growth takes place in darkness
Therefore, let the gloomy days spur growth for my soul

I woke up in the morning and prayed for a happy day
But I seemed surrounded by sadness
Then I caught a thought which says suffering helps the mind to produce euphoria
Therefore, let sadness teach me to generate pure happiness for my soul

I woke up in the morning and prayed for good health
But pain seized my day and fear invited itself
Then I caught a thought which says how can I understand the human condition if I never experience pain
Therefore, let pain teach me how to empathize with others, enjoy good health and loosen the grip of fear on my soul

Nothing bad lasts forever, just as everything good thing must come to an end. A change of perspective about life’s undesirable conditions can shift our negative view to more tolerable ones. From avoidance to acceptance. From sadness to happiness. From a pleasure-seeking mindset to a purpose-seeking mindset

Thank you for reading:)

I am a food lover, and cooking is therapeutic for me; it relaxes me and transports me to a quieter universe away from the noisy, busy modern world. I am a Counseling Mental Health & Wellness graduate student, wife, and stepmother. I love connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds through food, fashion, wisdom, and lifestyle in general. To be continued because I am still in the process of discovering who I am as I continue this journey called life. I promise to keep you all posted in the meantime.
