Poem: My Cover

Protection Or Progression

Naked I Come And Naked I Leave
By How Much Nakedness Can I Live
I Am Always Looking For A cover

To Cover My Body
My Mind, And My Soul
How do I Live Without A cover

I Cover Myself Always
Cannot Even Fall Asleep
Without the Feeling of My Cover

I am Secured And Protected
From Uncertainty and Unknown
When Shielded by my Cover

Uncertainty Of Life
And All That is In It
Hidden Behind My Cover

Life Is A Mystery We Must Unfold
Full Of Layers to Peel Off
To Live, I Lift my Cover

Am I Willing To Face Nakedness
For Certain I Am Afraid
Will You Choose to Recover?

I am a food lover, and cooking is therapeutic for me; it relaxes me and transports me to a quieter universe away from the noisy, busy modern world. I am a Counseling Mental Health & Wellness graduate student, wife, and stepmother. I love connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds through food, fashion, wisdom, and lifestyle in general. To be continued because I am still in the process of discovering who I am as I continue this journey called life. I promise to keep you all posted in the meantime.

  1. Great poem! I just helped my wife with changing the bed-sheets/sheet covers (and this poem seems to fit right in with that). πŸ™‚
