Self-Care Vs. Selfishness

We all want and need self-care, but most of us are afraid of admitting that to others and even to ourselves. Self-Care is not about being uncaring to others, being a lazy person, or a pleasure seeker. Of course, there is nothing wrong with enjoying yourself while having or observing your self-care activities. The world will not stop just because you decided to listen to your body, mind, and soul.

I remember those days working at the Crisis Invention Center, and I wish I knew then what I know now.”

I am a food lover, and cooking is therapeutic for me; it relaxes me and transports me to a quieter universe away from the noisy, busy modern world. I am a Counseling Mental Health & Wellness graduate student, wife, and stepmother. I love connecting with people from different cultural backgrounds through food, fashion, wisdom, and lifestyle in general. To be continued because I am still in the process of discovering who I am as I continue this journey called life. I promise to keep you all posted in the meantime.
